That’s how he gained relevance. According to Plutarch, still a young man, Solon did not see with good eyes the withdrawal of Athens in his war with Megara for the lands of Salamina. Parents were forced to teach a trade to their children, without losing the right to be kept in old age. New rules for marriage regarding the elimination of dowry and to maintain the family heritage of heir women. Limited the absolute power of parents in the family.
