History of the Law – The origin

May28
For human beings, a world without laws is not conceived. Laws are the rules that regulate relationships between human beings in a specific society. But before writing there were no laws. This meant that social norms were learned by heart and in many cases there was no single pattern. In addition, there were many aspects of society that were not regulated. At this point, the judges had great power and discretion to decide. Over time and the complexity of society, it became essential to regulate social relations as standard. That is why today we will know a little about the origin and universal history of the law. Most compilations of the evolution of the history of the law mention the Hammurabi Code, but this was not the first written legal code. However, it is recognized for being the one who has best preserved it has come to this day. This has allowed us to study it and attest to its depth and scope. However, there have been other legal texts prior to the Hammurabi code, which we will discuss later. With nothing else to add, let’s start. The Code of HammurabiWatch this video on YouTubeTable of Contents. ToggleThe keys and importance of the lawWhat is the law?The first legal codes in the history of the lawThe purpose of legal codes, a study for the history of the lawHammurabi CodeUr-Nammu CodeUrukagina CodeThe history of the law is the history of civilization The keys and importance of the law The key to the law is that we can all have access to the regulatory body in a stable manner. With this we are able to be judged equally independent of our origin. Legal systems whose regulations are not written, or ambiguous, lend themselves to applying penalties for reasons other than justice. The law has brought order and equality to human beings, but not everywhere in the world it is yet. Even with written laws, prosecution procedures may be without warranties. However, the law was the beginning of a world where we are all judged by the same normative body. Prior to the existence of the law, judges arbitrarily assessed the situation, the evidence and thus delivered a sentence. There were no procedural guarantees or presumption of innocence. Those precepts could be applied if it was right to consider them by the judge. But it was his expertise, experience and values that would determine the outcome.   What is the law? It is a broad and interesting question with many definitions. Here are some definitions of what the law means:Rule or rule established by a higher authority to regulate, according to justice, some aspect of social relations. In the constitutional regime, provision voted by the legislative chambers and sanctioned by the Head of State. Set of established laws or rules and the bodies responsible for implementing them. Rule that is established to proceed in a certain way. Set of rules and rules specific to a religion. In legal terms, it is a legal rule dictated by the legislature, that is, a provision established by the competent authority, in which something is sent or prohibited in line with justice, the non-compliance of which entails a penalty. From these definitions we draw the following conclusions:The law is written and sanctioned or put in place by someone. It may or may not be the same authority that accomplishes both tasks. It is established with or without the consent of the people. There are organs that are responsible for enforcing them. Laws require something to be done or prohibited. Non-compliance with laws involves sanctions. With this we understand that the law is an established mechanism to regulate relationships and their contravention implies sanction. The key to the law lies in its origin and evolution. That’s why we’ll go on to look at the first three legal codes in the story below. Law and lawyer The first legal codes in the history of the law The first three legal codes of which there is evidence in the history of the law are:Hammurabi Code Ur-Nammu Code Urukagina CodeAll these codes acquire their name from the king who enacted such laws. The best known is the Hammurabi Code because it came to our full days. However, those of Un-Nammu and Urukagina predations the Hammurabi Code. In the history of the law study these codes and their approach is key to understanding the construction of the modern world. They are also the central stone on which Greek, Roman law and in general all Western law sit. However, all these codes originate from ancient Mesopotamia in the Middle East. The area of ancient Mesopotamia is the region currently occupied by Iraq and Syria. That is why the foundational stone of modern law is found in that ancient civilization. Definitely a great contribution to humanity. Ebla tablets are also among the first legal codes, but we will talk about this on a next occasion. These codes are dated around 2.000 years before Christ. Approximately the development of the law is between 2.500 BC and 1.500 BC. In approximately 1.000 years, the foundations were laid for the first development of a legal system as we know it today. Hammurabi Code carved on stone The purpose of legal codes, a study for the history of the law But each of these codes has its own purpose-defined characteristics. While some portray the pursuit of order, others seek social justice. How today, the law is tailored to the values of society. It is difficult to find a universal law for all because the law also evolves with civilization. Without a doubt, each legal code seeks to edit the problems of society, at that time. The advancement of society makes priorities change. In addition, the values of each society also evolve. While the law once punished homosexuality either as a crime or as a sin, the various sexual orientations and freedom in this regard are now recognized. To learn a little about the purpose of legal codes we will analyze the oldest codes. With this we will try to determine what were the problems of each of these societies from the perspective of the legislator or drafter of the law, that is, the King. Purpouses of Law Hammurabi Code The most famous of the old codes. Their bases are found in the law of the Talion where punishment is directly related to the fault. It also brings great advances in the presumption of innocence. The accuser must provide evidence regarding the indictment. In the event of un proveted accusations, significant punishments are provided for the accusers. It is also a code focused on exemplary punishments. Punishments focus on death sentences and fines far higher than crime. It also establishes mechanisms to regulate relationships such as the relationship between master and worker through a minimum wage and days of rest. Their focus is on the order and regulation of relationships. Undoubtedly the problems of this civilization seem to be anarchy and abuse in power relations, in addition to false testimonies. Ancient Mesopotamia 101 | National GeographicWatch this video on YouTube Ur-Nammu Code The code of Ur-Nammu predes the Hammurabi, but later than that of Urukagina. However, it emphasizes the judicial process by establishing that judges must specialize according to the laws they are going to attend, that testimony be by oath, and the ability of judges to establish compensation. Through the Ur-Nammu code we can see the need for a sound judicial system and consider punishment alternatives to the death penalty for less serious crimes. Urukagina Code This code reflects the King as a social reformer and an element of justice. The code sought greater freedom and equality for all subjects, ending abuses. This code limited the power of elites, including priests, great owners, loan sharks, and bureaucrats. His struggle was against abuse of power and corruption. Other aspects he sought to limit were poverty and hunger. To this end, he even resorted to forgiveness of unpayable debts. It also reduced inequality by reducing the privileges of elites, including those of the monarch himself and his family. To achieve social peace and avoid the take-of-power and resources by force, he pursued murder, theft and attacks on property and people. Undoubtedly urukagina’s code was social equality and freedom. All this tells us that society’s problems were of great social differences. Fragment of Urukagina Code – Louvre Museum The history of the law is the history of civilization As we can see the history of the law is the history of civilization. Through the law we seek to advance both personal and social justice. That’s why Gustavo Mirabal is a lover of justice. Thanks to the law today we enjoy law and equality before the law and the state. Undoubtedly one of the great contributions to humanity of Mesopotamian peoples.

Mythology is one of the great reflections of civilization. Mythology is generally considered to be one of the first forms of religion of ancient civilizations. When we analyze the first civilizations, mythology serves us to interpret natural phenomena. But in the face of the inexplicable, human beings create mythological figures that explain these phenomena. This is how myths and gods are born. Today we will meet the Mythological Horses, a topic that Gustavo Mirabal is passionate about. The horse has accompanied man since the dawn of human civilization. That is why the myths and legends that explain the universe are in many cases associated with this animal. Just as man tamed nature to make it his tool, the gods do the same and more. That’s why mythological horses have special abilities. Mythological horses have additional wings or legs and this made them curious for Gustavo Mirabal. They also have the ability to fly to go where the gods dwell and humans cannot reach. From a very young age Gustavo fell in love with horses thanks to his Father who took him to the stables to meet them. His father, Gustavo Senior, was also passionate about horses. It was funny that little Gustavo Mirabal loved horses, but he loved them more when he met Pegasus or the Unicorn. Both horses not only had everything the others had but were also magical. Let’s discover the world of mythological horses and children’s dreams. Pegasus Winged Horse – Mythological horsesTable of Contents. ToggleMythology, religion of ancient peoples and home to mythological horses.Mythological Horses of Norse MythologyMythological horses in Greek/Roman mythologyMythological horses help us explain nature and civilizations Mythology, religion of ancient peoples and home to mythological horses. No doubt the ancient peoples revered nature. His knowledge of nature was told in stories that reflected his knowledge and the character of his civilization. This is how some of the European peoples with the most abundant mythologies are the Greeks, Scandinavians and Germanic Scandinavians. In some cases Roman mythology is counted, however Roman mythology was nothing more than the syncretism of Greek mythology in Roman civilization. The gods and stories are the same and only change the names of the gods, without changing their essence. In this way while Pluto is called the god of the underworld in Roman mythology in Greek is called Hades. Horses played a key role as the horse also played a leading role in ancient civilizations. This is how the gods and mythological heroes had their mythological horses with great abilities. Here’s a little bit about mythological horses and their role in explaining the universe in ancient times. Centaurs, Half Man, Half Horse – Greek Mythology – Gustavo Mirabal Mythological Horses of Norse Mythology Norse Mythology is one that captures the beliefs, myths and religion of the Germanic Scandinavian peoples. Previously we talked about the famous Sleipnir, the eight-legged horse, belonging to Norse mythology. Today we will talk about other cases also very interesting. Abacur Abacur is the horse of Sunna, the goddess of the Sun in Norse mythology. Others link it directly to the dawn horse that Sunna rides, when he runs to take over the solar cart every sunrise. However according to some authors Sunna’s horses were others, as we will mention below. Arvakr and Alsvidr (Alsviar) The names of these horses mean early riser and very fast. These horses according to the Poetic Edda guided the chariot of the sun in Norse mythology, dragging with them the sunrise. These weren’t the only horses, but they were the only ones named in the Poetic Edda. The mane of these horses emitted the light; and the goddess Sun (Sunna) itself provided the heat. In this way the light of the horses and the warmth of the goddess provided the sun as we know it. And the movement of the sun was thanks to the possibility of horses to fur through the skies. Blóðughófi Its name means “Bloody Hoof”. according to It’s the horse of the god Freyr. In Norse mythology it is narrated that the god Freyr offers his messenger and vassal, Skírnir, a horse capable of riding in the flames. This makes him on his way to the world of giants, called the Jatunheimr, as he was on his way to woo Gerer. Gerð or Gerd is the giant who marries Freyr and according to mythology is the most beautiful being The name of the steed is not explicitly named in the poem. Beyond that, it is accepted that it must be Bló-ughófi for being the name of Skírnir’s horse in other accounts. Odin riding Slepnir – Gustavo Mirabal Mythological horses in Greek/Roman mythology In Greek and Roman mythology we get numerous examples of mythological horses such as Pegasus and the Unicorn. Today we will delve into the mythological horses of Greek mythology and their importance. Metheo, Aethon, Abaster and Nonio These are the names of Pluto’s horses the god of the underworld in Roman mythology who was better known as Hades in Greek mythology. These horses were an intense black color and I handled them with golden reins. Also, according to the author consulted, it is said that the horses were called: Nicteo, Aetón, Alastor and Orpheus Aethon: In Greek and Roman mythology there is not a single Aeton. In the human case, Aethon’s name was used by Ulysses or Odysseus as a pseudonym while disguised to meet Penelope, his wife. It is also mentioned as Aethon to Eresicton of Thessaly because of his “incendiary appetite”. Due to an affront to the gods Eresicton was condemned to have an unlimited appetite which ended with the resources of his kingdom. He even sold his wife repeatedly to buy food. He ended up devouring himself. It is also the name of several horses that belonged to the following gods and mythological characters among which are:Ares Hades Helios Pallas HectorThis is because Aethon means “fire”, “flame” or “brilliant”. It certainly reflected the voraciousness of hell, the sun, the flaming wrath of Odysseus or the appetite of Eresicton. Hades and his horses with Perséfone – Mythological Horses Mythological horses help us explain nature and civilizations Mythological horses serve to explain natural phenomena with the gods and beings of mythology. However, they not only limit their role to this point. For the relationship that is told in mythological stories also helps us to understand the role of the horse in these civilizations. If we think that even the gods were transported in horses or horse-drawn carriages, we will understand the importance of horses for transport. Also this role accompanying the gods give them an air of nobility and importance. Undoubtedly horses as well as were important to these civilizations are important to man today. Mythological horses are the materialization of the dreams of a civilization that was consolidated in the modern world. Let us learn to value the natural world and animals as the ancients paid tribute to it through mythological horses.

Gustavo Mirabal and his favorite breed of horses Gustavo Mirabal is one of the most important representatives of the equestrian world. Her admiration for horses is given by that family vein that inherited her from her father Gustavo Mirabal Bustillos. Well, from a very young time he had direct contact with these beautiful animals. Today we will talk a little bit about Gustavo Mirabal and his favorite breed of horses. In this order of ideas, Gustavo Mirabal leaned towards discipline called obstacle jumping, equestrian jumping or also called Showjumping. Jumping is a sport within horseback riding consisting of a synchronized event judged on the ability of the horse and rider to jump over a number of obstacles, in a given order. Horse breeds called “hot blood” or Warmbloods. These breeds, mostly of European origin, have advantages over other breeds. Below we will introduce the breeds that are considered the best for equestrian jumping: Selle Français: The “ Selle Français” is characterized by a very robust bone constitution. The “ Selle Français” has an important English influence. Its height is between 155 and 170 cm. In addition, its backs are slightly inclined. On a list of jumping horses, we can’t leave the Lusitano horse on the outside. The Lusitano horse is native to the Iberian Peninsula. It was originally used, like almost all horse breeds, for agricultural and livestock purposes. It is linked to the Roman Empire because its name is due to the region of the Roman Empire called Lusitania. This horse has great musculature in its limbs and trunk. Its elevation and low tail show the capacity of this breed the high school. The Lusitano stands out for its intelligence and for its calm temperament, even in times of stress. This, together with their athletic ability, are the key to their use in classical dressage, reining and also high school dressage. Hanoverian Race – Gustavo Mirabal and his favorite breed of horses The Hanoverian breed is the breed that Mirabal likes the most when it comes to jumping horses. The warm-blooded Hanoverian horse is originally from Hanover, Germany. Today, it is one of the most popular breeds of warmbloods, or hot blood worldwide. The World Breed Federation for Sport Horses recognizes it as “the best breed of all”. Characteristics of the Hanoverian race The height ranges from 1.60 to 1.70m. It has a medium-sized head, light but imposing and elegant. The neck is characterized by being long and thin. Its body is medium-length, wide and strong. The tail has a high insertion and a raised cost. The limbs are relatively short, which accentuates the masivity of their figure. Moreover, the bones of the reeds however are strong and in general the joints are large. These horses are characterized by sturdy and well-formed helmets. In turn, they exist of all layers, but the most common are sorrel (from light to darkest), tordos and blacks. However, Hanoverian breed horses can become quite stubborn. This causes large doses of discipline to be required for your taming. In this way the horse will come to recognize authority and have confidence to follow it. Because of this, the Hanoverian horse of stubbornness will become a quiet character but with a firm and safe pace. This security in its passage and in its action is one of the keys to its great performance in the equestrian leap. The Hanoverian is considered the star of equestrian jumping horses. In fact there are too many specimens of this breed that have been jump champions. Other information He is a horse of pleasant and docile temperament, but only after being tamed and well trained. Good training will be the key to bringing out the Hanoverian’s potential. This was one of the characteristics for Gustavo Mirabal that made the Hanoverian his favorite breed of horses. Its presence and shaping make it ideal for activities such as classical taming or training. It is also frequently used in jump tests. Gustavo Mirabal and his favorite breed of horses Undoubtedly, for Gustavo Mirabal, the Hanoverian meets all the characteristics to be his favorite breed of horses. Even its stubbornness is an indispensable part of the characteristics that after bending make it one of the best performing horses in the holy equestrian. That’s why we agree with the World Breed Federation for Sport Horses to think that hanoverian is the best equestrian jumping horse in the world.

Horses in transmedia – Galloping from book to cinema

The transmedia storytelling is increasingly present in our lives. But what does transmedia storytelling mean? The transmedia storytelling is one that runs between several media at once, either in a complementary way or as multiple versions of the same story. Today we will meet those horses that have transcended the transmedia narrative Man has been telling his stories since ancient times. Man began by passing his stories from generation to generation verbally and then it was the cave paintings. This was followed by hieroglyphics and later books. He then began to record through the drawings and words in the comics. Then came the audio supports and moving images. Thanks to this we have books, audiobooks, comics, movies that you tell us different stories. But what happens when one of those stories is presented to us on multiple media at once? Or what happens when a work starts on a medium or medium but continues or extends to others? Today there are even some who have brought their narratives to video games building interactive narratives. Gustavo Mirabal is a lover of one of Canada’s most successful transmedia storytelling as Heartland is. It is to the magic that a narrative universe is presented through various means to what we call the transmedia storytelling. Today we will meet those horses who have been able to cross the barriers of a medium to tell us their stories. With nothing to add, let’s get started… Eadweard Muybridge photos in sequence Sardinilla, Geralt de Rivia’s horse The Geralt saga of Rivia has already become one of the most popular today. Last year, the television series The Witcher was released to adapt their first stories. Geralt de Rivia was born from the mind of Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. The Geralt saga of Rivia consists of 6 novels and 15 short stories telling the story of Geralt de Rivia. Geralt is a sorcerer, a genetically enhanced monster hunter full of moral ethical dilemmas. The sorcerer is located in a medieval fantasy world full of castles, kings, knights, damsels, sorcerers and horses. The complexity of the universe in which Geralt exists and his personality trapped hundreds of thousands of readers. It is thanks to this popularity that the Polish studio CD Red Project decided to turn its story into a video game. This video game saga The Witcher reached its zenith in version 3 of the game winning game of the year. Thanks to this Netflix decided to make a version for its Streaming service telling the story of his first book “The Last Wish”. Thanks to its success, a second season of this successful TV series is already planned. In this medieval world there could be no lack of an inseparable companion for Geralt de Rivia. And no, we’re not talking about your dear friend Jaskier, we’re talking about your good mare Sardinilla. In a medieval world where we have a character halfway between walking knight and mercenary it was essential that an equine companion accompany him. Sardinilla for being a mare, she imprisons Geralt, resulting in funny scenes and situations. It is certainly one of the horses that will give you to talk in the entertainment world with the second season. We’re all waiting. Geralt de Rivia and Sardinilla – Horses in Transmedia Storytelling Spartan, Amy’s horse – Horses in transmedia One of the most famous equestrian series of recent times has been Heartland. For many it is still unknown but for true fans of equestrian, Heartland is the holy grail. Heartland tells us the story of a teenage girl named Amy who loses her mother trying to save a horse. That horse becomes the symbol of what her mother aspired to and that’s why she decides to take care of him. Amy, like her mother, has a great ability to connect with horses, so much so that some consider her a “horse whisperer. Around this tragedy is added the reunion with his sister who was working in New York and with his father whom he did not know. In the midst of this whirlwind of situations and emotions Amy meets Ty, a some little rebellious and troubled boy. Spartan will be for Amy the connection with her lost mother and will teach her what she needs to become a true horse healer. It is the longest-running series on Canadian television and one of the highest rated. But what few people know is that this TV series is based on a series of very successful books in Canada. What’s more, the Heartland series is the most read and sold in Canada, surpassing even Harry Potter. Thanks to the strong character development, the Heartland series has been a success. This is because the literary universe was already rich when the Heartand series was released. Heartland already has 14 seasons and is still very healthy. Definitely a series and books that every horse lover should know. Amy and Spartan – Heartland’s Horses in Transmedia Storytelling Tornado, Zorro’s Horse Tornado is the most remembered horse for several generations. Zorro was one of the most famous television series of the time.  But before it was a TV series, Zorro was the main character in Johnston McCulley’s novel “The Curse of Capistrano”. But in the original books there is no mention of Tornado. The spectacular skill of Diego’s horses is mentioned but no mention of any name is made. The name Tornado was incorporated by Disney to give Zorro a faithful companion on his adventures. Zorro is a masked vigilante who decides to fight against the injustices and arbitrariness of the government. Together with his mute friend Bernardo and his faithful horse Tornado, they will put the evil rulers of Capistrano in trouble. As a curiosity, Diego in the book is called Diego Vega and not Don Diego de la Vega. This hero and his tornado horse have achieved so much fame that they have versions in comic books and video games. The first Zorro-based video game was released in 2001 for PC and Playstation 2. Maybe it was a long time for such a famous hero, but he did it through the big door, inspired by Johnston McCulley’s stories. Years later in Wii appeared “The Destiny of Zorro” in 2009. A game that delighted Zorro fans. He is currently in production “The Chronicles of Zorro” based on the television animated series. Undoubtedly Zorro and his horse Tornado have multiplied into media, stories and fun. Undoubtedly Zorro and Tornado Zorro’s Horse are an example of the horses in the transmedia storytelling. Zorro Riding Tornado Zorro’s Horse Horses in the transmedia storytelling Horses are storming all the media and transmedia storytelling alongside superheroes or with real stories. Gustavo Mirabal does an commendable job of publicising equestrian culture and the role of the horse today. The horse in painting through history

Apr08
We commented in our article on “the horse in universal literature” that the first artistic expression where the horse had been reflected was in painting. In the cave paintings, man recorded his closeness to the horse. That is why today we will talk about the horse in the painting and make a panning of its main representatives. The horse has accompanied man almost since the beginning of civilization. Since the first human manifestations and archaeological records the horse is located in them. Thus in the Caves of Ekain, one of the oldest places and with the highest concentration of cave paintings the horse is present. Even in history there have been horse painters… That is why we will take a brief tour of the history of humanity and the presence of the horse in painting. Let’s just add start. Metro The Painting RacehorseWatch this video on YouTube The horse in the Ekain caves In the caves of Ekain we find the most ancient cave paintings depicting the horse. They are located in the Basque country and date back to 10,000A.C. It is one of the places with the highest concentration of cave paintings in the world and there we find that the horse occupies 58% of them. Ekain is the beginning of horse painting that will accompany humanity throughout its development. Definitely an interesting story in which we will delve into another moment. Paintings of horses in the Cave of Ekain The horse in Egyptian painting and hieroglyphics The record of the written word is given in the Sumerian and Egyptian civilizations. It is in the latter that there are abundant records that relate horses to their lifestyle. This occurs during the phase of the new empire, when the Hicsos take power in Egypt and introduce the horse as a war technology. It is at this time that the first records of the horse are located. It is at this time that the word representing the horse appears in the written system of hieroglyphics. The word horse in hieroglyphics also means “noble” and this gives us to understand the relationship that the Egyptians had with the horses. At that time we found carved and painted murals depicting horses. Particularly important are those related to the Battle of Kadesh. After Ramses II won this battle thanks to his fabulous horses “Victory in Thebes” and “Mut is satisfied”, he commanded that both horses be represented in all religious temples. The horse in the painting found its golden age and its role in society. Representation of the Battle of Kadesh – The Horse in Painting The role of the horse in painting in Ancient China By the 8th century there were already several civilizations that were greatly developed. This is the case with the Chinese civilization that was developing the Tang Dynasty at the time. It was at that time that a prominent Chinese painter found great recognition for his horse paintings. The horse in Han Gan’s painting had great realism but beyond that it was said that in his paintings you could not only find the image of the horse but the spirit of it itself. When we observe Han Gan’s works we find reflected in it a deep connection between the horse and the rider. This connection is difficult to observe in many works and it was she who won her the recognition of the time. They are certainly admirable works. Horse in Painting of Han Gan Alberto Durero (1471-1528) This famous German Renaissance artist is renowned for the wide variety of supports he worked on. It also stands out for realism without losing the symbolism of the work. Durero studied art to all kinds of performances through engravings, drawings and paintings. But one of his most striking works is “The Knight, Death and the Devil” which will be accompanied by a poem. This poem with moralizing intent is intended to make sense of his work. It depicts a knight besathed by the devil and death against the hero’s mission. In this work there are many symbolic elements, but it is the horse that makes the knight a knight. That’s why the horse has a leading role in this work. To obtain this masterpiece Durero carried out several studies on the horse among which stand out:Study of a horse (1495) color version. Knight mounted (1512). Black and white adding details to point to a posture more similar to the final result of the engraving. No doubt Durero was an inspired horse in painting. The knight, the death and the devil George Stubbs (1724-1806) This British painter stood out for printing great realism to his horses in the paintings. Stubbs dedicated almost all his artistic work to this wonderful animal. On 25 August 1724 of our Lord Jesus Christ, George Stubbs was born in Liverpool. George began his training with Hamlet Winstanley but soon after resigned from his apprenticeship. Stubbs’ resignation was because the technique taught by Winstanley was based on copying other works rather than direct observation and originality. George Stubbs’ great curiosity took him beyond simple painting but this was really his passion. To achieve the ideal representation in his paintings to which it was necessary. He began with self-taught learning and worked to produce portraits in the north of England. Given the limitations of his technique he decided to study anatomy. From 1745 to 51 he studied human anatomy. Stubbs’ anatomy studies were conducted at York County Hospital. It was at that time that he performed spectacular works of human anatomy, among which are the illustrations for a book of gynecology of the time. He then went on to rent a farm to study horse anatomy and for 18 months devoted himself to studying and dissecting horses. As a result George Stubbs published the book “The Anatomy of the Horse” in 1766. The drawings in the book are just the beginning of his career. Thanks to all this his paintings are not only beautiful but anatomically perfect. Among his most renowned works is “Whistlejacket” which we can find at the National Gallery of London. Whistlejacket by George Stubbs The horse in the inspired painting of many people No doubt the horse has not only inspired books and paintings. He has also inspired some of his most experienced painters to study his anatomy, such as George Stubbs. As a result, veterinary medicine had better models for taking care of horses. For all this and for the nobility of the horse these are works worth admiring by anyone, especially by horse lovers. No doubt the horse has accompanied and inspired man to reach his full potential. Gustavo Mirabal and his wife Maria Carolina Mirabal wish to make known the beauty of horses and their role in human history. On Gustavo Mirabal’s social networks you can find a lot of references to the importance of the horse. Surely we cannot forget that without the horse the story would not be the same.

It has a walk of great flexibility. A good-natured horse that will delight anyone who works with him. Its character and other characteristics were the result of a very rigorous selection. For the breeding of this breed of Swiss horses, health, mental conditions and ease of driving were taken into account. Currently this type of horse is less common in Europe. Switzerland has developed this breed of horse, not only to play a sporting role, but to contribute to the development of regular activities such as agriculture. He is considered a light draft horses. Thanks to the crossing of the original draft horses working in agriculture and military activity with sports horses. This situation almost led to the extinction of the Freiberger in Switzerland but we will see that later. Thanks to the combination of different skills it is a multipurpose horse. The Freiberger is suitable for horse riding, it is a family horse, it is suitable for leisure but also for driving coachs. In areas where it is most appreciated is in driving, in the agricultural industry and recreational horseback riding. It is considered that finally this horse is a middle ground between hot-blooded horses and draft horses. Its breeding program stated in 1997 that its objective was to obtain a horse “noble, quiet, typical, medium size, high performance, very sociable and adapted to the needs of the Swiss market”. The lighter ones are used for riding while the heaviest horses of this breed are used for driving. Freiberger Horse – Swiss National Haras Photo History of the Freiberger breed – Switzerland With more than two hundred years of history under its hulls, the Freiberger horse from Switzerland has a lot to tell us. It was initially developed to contribute to the agricultural tasks of farms in the Jura Valley. Over time they have become a versatile animal valued in both the military and leisure spheres. Its development was mainly concentrated in the nineteenth century and has its origins in the agricultural mountain horses of the fourteenth century. The crossing of these mares with European horses resulted in the base of the Freiberger. It is considered that the two stallions that founded the Freiberger breed in Switzerland were Vaillant and Imprévu. These are the most important genetic lines today. It is towards the end of the nineteenth century precisely when the race acquires its name. Even that race without acquiring today’s homogeneity was divided into subtypes. Only by the end of the twentieth century would the race end up homogenizing. After the Second World War, given the mechanization of agriculture, draft horse went to the background. That is why the Swiss National Haras began a change in its policy to make a lighter horse making crosses with European horses. This change in politics from the 1960s almost caused the Freiberger horse to become extinct as we know it today. Later the policy changed to preserve the Freiberger horse as a light draft horse. From 1997 the genealogy book of the Freiberger breed was closed for external races. Today a selection of the best specimens within the breed is maintained to continue improving it. Breed horse Freiberger – Switzerland 1914 The Freiberger and the Swiss National Haras It is appreciated as a draft horse for rides and for competitive sports. With the support of the Swiss National Haras, a wide range of disciplines and sciences are used to protect horses and promote equestrian practice. Working on both their behavior and their genetics this group has managed to develop the Freiberger as an excellent breed. The Freiberger breed of Switzerland – A light draft horse The Jura Valley – Switzerland Jura Valley is the birthplace of the Freiberger horse. The official horse from Switzerland is still being developed here. It is a beautiful place that preserves its rural essence and its agricultural areas. The turmoe has also become an important activity for the Jura Valley. Currently in the Jura there are many outdoor activities such as:Cycling Hiking Alpine skiing Cross-country skiingIn the Jurá Valley, there are also some activities such as horse riding and Freiberger horse-drawn carriage rides are a great attraction. And another thing that attracts tourists is the so-called “valley of watches” but which we will talk about at an next opportunity. The Jura Valley in all its glory The Freiberger horse breed, a national heritage Undoubtedly Switzerland is a visionary country. Preserving its equine livestock reserves demonstrates its vision of a risk-conscious and balanced country. Today we know that natural resources are not infinite and that in case of emergency we have to go back to old technologies. The horse has an applicability in the strategic, military and agricultural part. Preserving them in the event of a technological catastrophe can be the key to survival. On the other hand, preserving our ecological heritage and animals makes us aware of its value. The care and management of the Freiberger Breed by Switzerland is an example to follow.

Her versatility as a woman led her to participate in 1994 in the maximum beauty event held in her native Venezuela. In this prestigious contest of Miss Venezuela María Carolina Mirabal participated in representation of the Delta Amacuro State at the age of 23. One of the strengths that Maria Carolina Mirabal has is to transmit to her children the great love for animals especially horses. Well, together they took on G&C Farm’s equestrian project. Over time G&C Farm became a reference space in sports, it should be noted that today it is inactive. Gustavo Mirabal‘s wife – Maria Carolina Mirabal is always supporting her husband’s projects. This couple with their children have had the privilege of getting up close and personal with different cultures because they have lived in different countries. Without further delay we know a little more about Gustavo Miraba’s wife, Maria Carolina Mirabal, her origin and trajectory. Maria Carolina Mirabal and Miss Venezuela – Gustavo Mirabal’s wife In Venezuela, the country of beautiful women, all girls dream of being Miss Venezuela. If for something Venezuela is usually recognized it is for the beauty of its women. Maybe it’s all because of the unique mix of races that took place in this beautiful country. And it’s not just about the colonial era and the mix of Spaniards, Indians and Africans. In this mix we can also count on immigration as a result of the first and second world wars. The latter brought new settlers from European origins, especially Spanish and Italian. Venezuela was always a country of contrasts and tolerance. Chinese, Spanish, Italian and Middle Eastern communities meet in Venezuela. Best of all, harmony is breathed in the environment full of contrasts and diversity. Perhaps this is one of the aspects that has played a fundamental role in the formation of the beauty of Venezuelan women. To this we can add a special personal care that the Venezuelan woman has with her body and her appearance. It is not for nothing that hairdressers and women’s beautification sites in Venezuela are thriving businesses even in difficult times. The Venezuelan woman says “preferable dead than simple” and this tells us that in her priorities is her personal appearance. It is not narcissism if anyone wishes to challenge this characteristic. It is that the Venezuelan woman so as a mother and worker puts efforts to take care of herself. There lies her merit because no matter what challenges she imposes she overcomes them and also looks spectacular. So how did Maria Carolina Mirabal become a participant in Miss Venezuela? Let’s know a dream and a determination. Maria Carolina Mirabal as Miss Delta Amacuro As mentioned above, almost all Venezuelan girls dream of being Miss Venezuela. From the attention they put into the event, the details, beautiful dresses and intelligence of women are key to the event. These were the keys for Maria Carolina to forge this dream since she was a child. But the dream as a child became a possibility when adolescence made her a beautiful woman. His companions were dazzled by his beauty and constantly called him “the miss”. She took it as one more game and certainly in adolescence self-esteem is not something that abounds. The physical changes young people undergo make them ashamed even if they are for the better. This was the case of Maria Carolina Chapellin, a beautiful girl who had become a woman and was bombed with compliments. At times she came to think it was a bad thing to be so pretty. However, with maturity comes the recognition that each gift is good or bad as it is seizen. Seeing women as women who had been Miss Venezuela had excelled in other areas beyond glamour, she discovered something. Maria Carolina Chapellin, not yet of Mirabal or wife of Gustavo Mirabal, discovered that Miss Venezuela “will open doors” Miss Venezuela would not only open doors to the winner, but any woman who passed through Miss Venezuela could have more opportunities. With her intelligence she was determined to take all the opportunities that life gave her. That’s how she decided to participate in a modeling academy that had a reputation for becoming a “miss machine.” There it was one of the sites where the organizers of Miss Venezuela performed the recruitment of Candidates.. The moment of truth… Miss or not Miss? Gradually Maria Carolina Chapellin caught her eye, not only for her beauty but for her elegance and intelligence. One day like any other, she was called to the modeling academy office. The instructor’s seriousness made him fear the worst, would he have done something wrong? They were going to get her out of the academy? Few were the moments of tension because without further protocol they asked him: “You’d like to participate in Miss Venezuela” While that was her dream, Maria Carolina Chapellin at the time panicked. I was scared. What if they told you she was ugly, what if she didn’t fit in?… But that panic gave way to joy and there she knew she was ready to take the opportunity that life gave her. “Yes. I’d like to” She couldn’t imagine the hard physical training and strict diets she would have to follow. But when you talk about it, you reaffirm: “Yes, it’s a tough workout. Some see Miss Venezuela’s women as delicate women. Nothing further from the truth. A miss Venezuela is a warrior. It’s a tough workout but it’s worth it, it prepares you for life and it opens a lot of doors for you” Within a few months she was informed that she would represent Delta Amacuro state at the “Magno Venezuelan Beauty Event”. Her family supported her and from the moment Gustavo Mirabal saw her at Miss Venezuela she knew she had something special. Years later they would meet and the magic of fate brought them together to never part again. Gustavo Mirabal’s wife, An Amazing Woman Gustavo Mirabal’s wife – María Carolina Mirabal is a talented woman with great versatility to address her different roles as a woman, wife, mother, entrepreneur, sportswoman among others. Maria Carolina teaches her children to love their roots, traditions and culture. His paternal family has been rooted as since the Bigott Foundation they carry out multiple activities to strengthen culture in Venezuela. Once again Maria Carolina Mirabal continues to support her husband Gustavo Mirabal in current projects and playing her role as a selfless mother with her children. Undoubtedly this great woman is a follow-up example…   For more info:https://gustavomirabal.ae/ https://gustavomirabal.ch/ https://www.pinterest.com/gustavomirabalcastro/ instagram.com/gustavomirabal.es/ https://gustavomirabalcastro2.wordpress.com/acerca-de/

Tornado and Zorro - Famous Horses

Zorro: A Masked Hero on Horseback

Zorro is the hero who marked the childhood of at least 4 decades. A powerful rider equipped with a sword and his intelligence makes a difference and does justice. Zorro is the masked hero par excellence who does justice on horseback . Protected by his mask and black outfit with cape and hat Zorro is dedicated to doing justice. The events reported in the series are located in the city of Los Angeles of the 19th century. This region at the time was a Spanish colony and was known as California today. In this context, a government is outlined that oppresses its helpless inhabitants. Zorro is a hero who thanks to his abilities outperforms the clumsy and oppressive rulers. Zorro’s abilities are not limited to the art of horseback riding and fencing because this man is also endowed with great intelligence. Zorro is the secret identity of Don Diego de La Vega, a nobleman just outraged by oppression. Zorro is a masked hero on horseback who seeks justice for all. This is the image that many of us remember. Those born from the 1950s to the 1990s know Zorro. Some of us remember it in color and some in black and white. Zorro set the tone in the homes of millions of children in dozens of countries. This is one of the favorite characters of amateur rider Gustavo Mirabal. Today we will learn a little more about its history and the artistic expressions that this character has inspired. A character of popular culture who has earned the hearts of several generations. Without further ado let’s get started. Zorro 1957 - 1959 Opening and Closing Theme (With Snippets)Watch this video on YouTubeTable of Contents. Prolific Johnston McCulley wrote more than 100 short stories and about fifty novels without the numerous screenplays for film and television. He created other famous characters of the time such as Black Star, The Spider and The Crimson Clown. He also wrote the screenplays to bring several of his short stories to the cinema. But without a doubt its most famous characters the Spanish Zorro of Baja California. Zorro was born in the pages of the short story “The Curse of Capistrano”. His success led McCulley to write 60 other stories about the masked Californian hero on horseback. The Curse of Capistrano – The First Story of Zorro a Masked Hero on Horseback Zorro the Hero on horseback of modern culture Zorro is rated in modern culture by the first fictional hero. This character born from McCulley’s pages has gone through almost every media outlet. From books, movies, TV series, comics and even the theater have seen the masked hero on horseback pass by. But it just so happens that Zorro we all know is a different Zorro. The hero we know has a great attachment to his friend Tornado, Zorro’s Horse. McCulley’s work mentions exceptional horses but makes no mention of a particular name. It is true that in human history exceptional horses have had a name of their own. Examples such as Bucephalus, Alexander the Great’s Horse, Pigeon Simon Bolivar’s Horse and Julius Caesar’s Horse Genitor could fill hundreds of pages. That’s why Walt Disney in his quest to give the TV adaptation an irresistible personality made a small change. Introducing Tornado, Zorro’s horse, would change nothing in history but give him personality. But let’s learn a little more about this “character in the series.” The Lone Ranger and Zorro Tornado, Zorro’s horse, a masked hero. Introducing the dynamic between Zorro and Tornado was not difficult, the hard part was getting an actor to play such a prodigy. It took a beautiful horse capable of running, jumping and doing all sorts of feats. This required a horse that looked good on the screen but was also competent. It was certainly a big challenge for the Walt Disney Company’s “Big Boss.” Walt Disney in deciding to adapt Zorro story to the small screen including a special horse was tasked with achieving it. That’s how he found a race champion horse that would play Tornado… Tornado, Zorro’s horse, a masked hero What’s the name of Tornado, Zorro’s horse? The name of Tornado, Zorro’s horse is, basically, Diamond Decorator. Zorro’s horse in the series is called Tornado and was incarnated primarily by champion horse Diamond Decorator. It was also embodied by at least 3 additional horses that served as Diamond Decorator’s “risk doubles”. In this way the new and prodigious actor who would play the prodigious horse was protected. Tornado would be able to jump, run and even do one of the other stunts. He would also be able to assist Zorro to escape numerous dangers. Thanks to Tornado’s intelligence, Zorro could give him instructions with a whistle. No doubt this was one of the great allies of this famous hero. Diamond Decorator is Tornado, Zorro’s Horse Zorro series, the masked hero on horseback A series produced by The Walt Disney Company in the late 1950s would make its mark in several generations. So successful was that when color television arrived it continued to be broadcast. Years later, television footage would be “colored” to adapt it to new times. This was done during a remastering in 1992 to attract audiences of the time. This was a great success because in Argentina and other countries as well as in some streaming services it is still broadcast. Beyond all this there was great talent behind this production. Let’s get to know them. A noble knight would play Zorro, a masked hero on horseback The actor who would play Zorro would be the famous Guy Williams. Guy Williams began working as an actor with Universal Studios in Hollywood. But after several small roles he had an accident that left him injured. Because of that incident Williams decided to return to his native New York. Williams was born in New York in the middle of Broadway. She had minor jobs until she began working as a model and without a single-out. Due to his Italian-Latin roots he was rejected from several works. Under the circumstances, his agent decided to change his stage name from Armand Catalano to Guy Williams. Only through adversity can it be grown and flowered. This is how almost 10 years after his accident and his dedication to independent films he landed the role that catapulted him to fame… Some of the skills that made him perfect for the role was skill as a jockey and his fencing knowledge. This gave him an advantage that Guy Williams took advantage of in Walt Disney’s own personal interview. As a result, he earned a high salary ($2500 a week for the time) and the role that would make him famous. Due to his previous experience with the incident on a horse that left him out of acting, Guy Williams also had a double action. He was so successful that he then followed his streak with series such as Bonanza and Lost in Space… Definitely a great interpreter. Guy Williams Zorro, a masked hero in modern culture. Today we find Zorro in various media. From comics to a play, to Antonio Banderas’ Zorro for film, Zorro is a timeless hero. Even Zorro has made some crossovers in comic with the Lone Ranger, another masked hero. You can see some image of this crossover on our Instagram account. Zorro Handing Out Justice and Values Rider and entrepreneur Gustavo Mirabal grew up with Zorro in childhood and continues to appreciate his thirst for justice. This left the values he advocates sown. Undoubtedly Zorro embodies the values of freedom and the pursuit of justice and therefore will never go out of style. Together with their tornado horse they will continue to impart justice and values to the new generations. TAGS: zorro
