Coronavirus outbreak in Spain
The coronavirus is the pandemic that has put the entire world in check. This lethal disease emerged in China at the end of 2019 and little by little it spread to the other continents, being one of the most affected by coronavirus countries like Spain and Italy.
Currently the figures are worrying since there are a total of 31,586,171 confirmed cases and 989.33 deaths worldwide. This disease made us rethink our priorities at a personal, family and work level.
In Spain there are a total of 716,481 confirmed cases and 31,232 deaths from coronavirus. The most affected cities are the capital city of Spain, Madrid, with 108,374 cases followed by Catalonia with 102,302 confirmed cases.
In Europe the alert has arisen again, due to the Coronavirus Reappearance in Spain. Let us remember that this nation has been one of the worst hit by the disease.
Ideally, the population continues to take into account the measures recommended by the World Health Organization.
The outbreaks of coronavirus in Spain cause great concern in the rest of Europe
We talk about a re-outbreak of coronavirus, that is, a second wave of this lethal disease makes governments think…
Well, previous experience has been very difficult. In addition, the particularities of those affected have varied.
In week 32 (August 2020) the highest accumulated incidents were between people under 60 years of age. The group with the highest accumulated incidents is people between 15 and 29 years of age.
Currently, the proportion of cases in those over 60 years of age was 14.8%. While on March 30, 2020, 67.2% of the cases identified in Spain were over 60 years old.
This means that the population infected and diagnosed in the summer months is younger than in the first wave of coronavirus.
Without a doubt, this represents an additional concern for the rulers since it is a question of the young and economically active population.

If you have severe symptoms, seek immediate medical attention.
First Wave versus Second Wave of Coronavirus in Spain
The situation presented in Spain lasts during the months of March and April is very different from what is currently being presented. That has its reason for being this.
It is not easy to compare the fatality figures observed in Spain in the months of March and April with those of July and August.
The cases are totally different, with the youngest cases being in the summer of 2020. In this sense this segment of the population has greater morbidity than what happened in the first wave of coronavirus.
This phenomenon is reflected in the mortality indicator. This is due to the fact that this summer more young people and fewer elderly people are infected than last time.
The difference is that it implies less hospital admissions and deaths.
However, other factors could be intervening in this decline.
Among these factors that are making a difference is that detection is increasingly early. Indeed, the severity of the cases is less.
Another difference is that in mid-May there were six days that elapsed between the onset of symptoms and the diagnosis. While in mid-August this time has been reduced to three days, this allows for faster action.
The severity of coronavirus cases in Spain in March and today
Regarding the severity of the cases, the need for admission to hospital or to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has decreased significantly.
From May to August, 5.3% of the cases required hospitalization and 0.4% admission to the ICU.
Another reason for the differences is the greater experience in managing patients.
This has made possible the activation of new treatment protocols. These treatment protocols are aimed at treating complications triggered during the disease.
This health experience is that it has contributed to the increased survival of patients.
More experience and better preparation against coronavirus
The regrowth of coronavirus in Spain is a source of alert for its rulers and general population. This hard experience they experienced left them very affected.
To do this, the most important thing is for the population to become aware and implement preventive measures. We should all try to avoid getting covid – 19 or coronavirus.
If they take into account prevention measures, the situation will continue to be under control in the country. And the hard experience will be a great learning to be able to quickly overcome this new wave of coronavirus in Spain
